09/17/2025 Commercial Mechanical Standard REQUIRES RESUBMIT 1. Provide heating and cooling load calculations to justify the heating/cooling capacities of the specified new HVAC units. Reference: Section C403.1.1 and C502.2.3, IECC 2018.
2. The control note for the proposed exhaust fan, EF-1, states that the fan will operate only when the gas detection system triggers an alarm. Section 502.13, IMC 2018 requires the exhaust fan to operate continuously unless an automatic exhaust system provides for a minimum exhaust airflow rate of 0.05 CFM per square foot when the space is not in an alarm status. Reference: Section 404.1, IMC 2018.
3. Verify that vehicle engines will only be operated for the purpose of moving the vehicles into or out of the shop. Reference: Section 502.14, IMC 2018.
