Separate permits will be required for the following. The same set of Construction Documents can be used for all.
Please apply for new separate permits for the Items below.
• NEW PERMIT REQUIRED FOR: K-Modular Kitchen Unit- Building plans to be stamped as approved by ADOH and a copy of the installation permit by Arizona Department of Housing to be provided.
• NEW PERMIT REQUIRED FOR: LDR-Laundry Room
• NEW PERMIT REQUIRED FOR: Cover structure over Covered eating area.

Plan review comments as follows.
1. Please update code references to reference the 2018 edition of the applicable codes.

2. Please identify at least one accessible route, within this site that connects accessible buildings, accessible facilities, accessible elements and accessible spaces that are on the same site to include lockers. 1104.2
3. Please identify the accessible facilities on this site and provide a drawing showing the transition from the accessible route to the community use facilities, and the solution for providing accessible entrance to shelters when required for occupant. IBC Chapter 11. For example, a temporary ramp. Additionally, please show accessible egress to Hygiene trailers For example, (Ramps)
4. Please amend plans to provide the structural calculations used to design the Laundry room walls for resistance to lateral loads. Alternatively, provide prescriptive wall bracing per IBC 2308.6 IBC 107.2.7 For example, the two short walls, next to the opening shown on the North Elevation, do not appear to be code compliant.
5. Additionally, related to above comment, provide complete construction plans for the laundry room to include roof framing plan, identifying the framing members, headers, and the connections, roof plan, sheathing, slope, roof covering and flashing, including all connections. IBC 107.2.1
6. Please review the required special inspections in the structural calculations to verify if they are necessary, as there is no field welding, and the erection is fairly simple. The post-installed anchor special inspection would be useful for us.

7. Provide the calculations, design and construction drawing detail for the light pole foundation. IBC 107.2.7
8. Please indicate the type of foundation system that will be used for the Pallet Shetler installation. IBC 107.2.1 There are several types listed in the drawings provided. For example, sheet S1.1 indicates a Hitch Pin system on a monolithic concrete foundation. While a separate document Pallet Shelter 64 Structural Calculations starting on sheet 33 of 66 shows sandbags as a possible anchoring system.
A. The above calculations refer to the 2021 IBC; please change to the 2018 IBC. Treat this as a typical note, applicable throughout the construction documents.
B. Please indicate why the boxed note regarding California Building Code is in these calculations on sheet 2, 3
9. Please indicate what type of structure is to be used for the Hygiene facilities and provide a manufactures specification sheet if available. IBC 107.2.1
10. Please amend plans to print the following inspection checklist for the Pallet Shelter structures on the coversheet of the plans. IBC 107.2.1
 Emergency Egress Escape Opening – The net clear height opening shall be not less than 24 inches, and the net clear width shall be not less than 20 inches
 Smoke and CO Alarm – Battery operated smoke alarm and CO alarm or a single
alarm that contains both smoke and CO.
 Heating – If heaters are being used, they shall be mounted on the wall, electric, and controlled with a timer or thermostat. Portable heating units are prohibited.
 Fire Extinguisher – 2A‐10B‐C fire extinguisher mounted in each unit
 Landings – If landings or stairs are needed, they shall be affixed to the unit
 Maximum Occupancy – A maximum of two (2) adults per Pallet Shelter
 Lighting ‐ Sealed LED light, ceiling mounted
 Clearances ‐ 10 – foot minimum separation between Pallet Shelters and other combustible materials.

09/22/2025 Commercial Plumbing REQUIRES RESUBMIT 1. Show how the exposed water pipes are to be protected from freezing. Reference: Section 305.4, IPC 2018.
2. The fixture drain serving an automatic clothes washer shall connect to a fixture branch that is at least 3 inches in diameter. Reference: Section 406.2, IPC 2018.
3. The site utility drawing shows a branch of the building sewer located at the laundry building. Why isn’t the building drain connected to the building sewer?
