09/08/2025 Commercial Mechanical Standard REQUIRES RESUBMIT 1. Provide a mechanical design and calculations performed by an Arizona registrant who has demonstrated proficiency through registration, education, technical knowledge, or experience to perform such work. Reference: Sections 107.1 and 107.2.1, IBC 2018.
2. Provide heating and cooling load calculations that justify the capacities of the heating and cooling equipment specified for the project. Reference: Sections R302.2 and R403.7, IECC 2018 as amended by the City of Tucson.
3. Provide a programmable thermostat for each air handler that complies with the requirements of Section R403.1.1 (N1103.1.1), IECC (IRC) 2018
4. Show the complete specifications for each Packaged heat pump, including the SEER2 and HSPF2 for each unit, any supplemental heaters, and the air leakage rating of the air handler (ASHRAE Standard 193). Reference: Sections R103.2, R403.7 and R501.5, IECC 2018.
5. Verify that the parapet height within ten feet of the packaged heat pump is at least 42” above the walking surface of the roof or provide guards for the unit per Section 304.11, IMC 2018.
6. Show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drains from the packaged heat pumps. Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2018 as amended by the City of Tucson.
7. Provide calculations to verify that adequate ventilation will be provided for the dwelling unit. Reference: Section 403.3.2, IMC 2018.
8. Ventilation for kitchens in private dwellings requires a minimum of 25 CFM (continuous operation) or 100 CFM (intermittent operation) of mechanical exhaust per room with no recirculation of air (e.g. specify the exhaust flowrate for the kitchen hood). Reference: Table 403.3.2.3, IMC 2018.
9. Ventilation for bathrooms in private dwellings requires a minimum of 20 CFM (continuous operation) or 50 CFM (intermittent operation) of mechanical exhaust per room with no recirculation of air. Reference: Table 403.3.2.3, IMC 2018.

Show unshielded fixtures with a maximum of 3,000 lumens, OLC 401.4.
4. Show lamps with a maximum of 3500K color temperature, OLC 402.1.
5. Fixtures installed under canopies and overhangs. Outdoor lighting fixtures shall not be counted in determining the total light output when they are full cutoff light fixtures installed under canopies, building overhangs, or roof eaves, OLC 401.2.1(3).
6. Provide manufacture’s specification sheets for outdoor lighting fixtures.
7. Indicate whether or not a special inspection is required per sec. 104.2.2, and 106.2.
