Should the above not followed, it may delay your approval. COMMENTS: 1. CASH REGISTER a. Ensure that the facility is accessible complying to the ICC/ANSI A117.1 for both Employees and Customers. The tops of work surfaces 902.4: shall be 28 inches min and 34 inches max above the floor. Parallel approach 904.3.2: the public use side of the counter surface 36 inches in length minimum. Forward approach 904.3.3: the public use side of the counter surface 30 inches minimum in length. Knee clearance 306.3: between 9 inches and 27 inches above the floor. Maximum depth 306.3.2: extend 25 inches maximum under an element at 9 inches above the floor. Minimum depth 06.3.3: Where clear floor space complying with Section 305, the knee clearance shall be 11 inches minimum in depth at 9 inches above the floor, and 8 inches minimum in depth at 27 inches above the floor. b. Provide drawings illustrating how the cash register is electrically powered and communication lines provided at the cash register Island Counter. c. Provide drawings illustrating the above code requirements. 2. AIR DIFFUSER/ RETURN AIR GRILL/EXHAUST FAN a. On a separate architectural reflected ceiling plan drawing, show the location of the following: i. Exhaust fan ii. Return air grill iii. Air diffuser 3. MEANS OF EGRESS a. Egress through intervening spaces. IBC 1016.2 Means of egress are not prohibited through stockrooms in Group M occupancies where all of the following are met: i. The stock is of the same hazard classification as that found in the main retail area. ii. .Not more than 50 percent of the exit access is through the stockroom. iii. .The stockroom is not subject to locking from the egress side. iv. There is a demarcated, minimum 44-inch-wide aisle defined by full- or partial-height fixed walls or similar construction that will maintain the required width and lead directly from the retail area to the exit without obstructions. b. Please clearly show the storage racks/shelves & the demarcated aisle with dimension on your drawing. 4. SIGN a. Please submit a separate sign permit for an signs associated with this project. b. Ajo Way. - C-1 Smoke Shop (2nd Review) TRANSMITTAL DATE: ‎August 28, 2025 Resubmit revised drawings with a detailed response letter stating how all Zoning Review Section comments were addressed. This site is located in the C-1 zone (UDC 4.7.20). Smoke shop is a permitted use in the zone (UDC Table 4.8-4), subject to Use Specific Standards 4.9.9.H. 1. Clearly demonstrate that the requirements of UDC Use Specific Standards 4.9.9.H are met. It does not appear that 4.9.9.H.3 can be met. A Board of Adjustment for Variance maybe required.
