Sheet A1: Please update the Code information – Code Compliance to replace 2024 UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 2024 UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 2009 ICC A117.1 ACCESSORIES AND USABLE BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES with the 2017 ICC A117.1 ACCESSIBLE AND USABLE BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES (referenced standard), 2024 INTERNATIONAL MECHANICAL CODE (IMC) and 2024 INTERNATIONAL PLUMBING CODE (IPC)
Additionally, please add the CITY OF TUCSON/PIMA COUNTY OUTDOOR LIGHTING CODE and reference the City of Tucson Local Amendments to the adopted codes
2. Sheet A1: The Code Information includes references to both sprinklered and non-sprinklered conditions, while the Fire Suppression information indicates that an automatic fire sprinkler system will be installed. Please revise the drawings so that all code information is consistent and accurately reflects the proposed sprinklered building throughout the plan set. IBC 107.2.1
2. Please revise the plans to include a structural detail demonstrating how the commercial kitchen hood is connected to, supported by, and laterally braced from the building structure. The detail shall clearly identify all attachment methods, support members, connection hardware, and required bracing necessary to provide a complete load path and ensure structural stability.
Additionally, provide structural calculations prepared by the registered design professional verifying that the existing roof structure has adequate capacity to support the proposed hood and its supporting system, in combination with all existing roof-mounted equipment and applicable design loads, without exceeding the structural capacity of the building.

08/06/2026 Commercial Mechanical Standard REQUIRES RESUBMIT 1. Provide heating and cooling load calculations to justify the heating/cooling capacities of RTU-3. Reference: Section C403.1.1 and C502.2.3, IECC 2024.
2. Show the construction materials of the existing interior wall adjacent to the type II hood are non-combustible. Reference: Section 304.1, IMC 2024.
3. The mechanical plan shows high velocity diffusers from RTU-3 in close proximity to the Type II hood Verify that the location and type of air outlets does not reduce the effectiveness of the exhaust system. Reference: Section 304.1, IMC 2024.

08/06/2026 Commercial Plumbing Standard REQUIRES RESUBMIT 1. Appliances (e.g. beverage dispensers, ice makers, etc.) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.14.1, IPC 2024 require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.3, IPC 2024.
2. At a minimum, coffee machines and non-carbonated beverage dispensers require the use of a backflow preventer listed to either ASSE 1022, ASSE 1024, ASSE 1032, or an air gap. Reference: Section 608.17.1.2, IPC 2024.
3. A hand wash sink located in the kitchen area shall either discharge through a grease interceptor or have a sign posted above it stating: “HANDWASH SINK ONLY! NO FOOD PREPARATIONOR DISHWASHING ALLOWED”. Reference: Section 1003.3(A), IPC 2024 as amended by the City of Tucson.
4. Kitchen floor drains and troughs shall discharge through a grease interceptor. Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2024, as amended by the City of Tucson.
