1. Temporary Installation
The plans indicate the proposed sleeping cabin is a temporary demonstration unit. Please note on the plans that the electrical installation is temporary and shall comply with the requirements of 2023 NEC Article 590. Indicate the intended duration of the temporary installation and provide a statement that the electrical installation will be removed upon completion of the demonstration.
2. Existing Service Capacity
Provide electrical load calculations demonstrating that the existing building service and feeder have sufficient capacity to serve the additional temporary demonstration cabin load in accordance with NEC Article 220.
3. Electrical Site Plan
Provide a site plan indicating:
• Existing building service equipment
• Source of power
• Temporary feeder routing
• Disconnect location
• Cabin location
• Wiring method between the building and demonstration cabin
4. Feeder and Overcurrent Protection
Provide conductor sizes, insulation type, wiring method, overcurrent protection, and voltage rating for the temporary feeder supplying the demonstration cabin.
5. Disconnecting Means
Provide a readily accessible disconnecting means for the temporary cabin in accordance with NEC Articles 225 and 590.
6. Grounding and Bonding
Provide grounding and bonding details for the temporary feeder, including equipment grounding conductor sizing and termination in accordance with NEC Article 250.
7. Wiring Method
Indicate the temporary wiring method. Temporary wiring shall comply with NEC Article 590 and be protected from physical damage. If flexible cord is proposed, demonstrate compliance with NEC Article 400 and Article 590.
8. GFCI Protection
Provide GFCI protection for all receptacles required by NEC 210.8 and any temporary receptacles required by NEC 590.
9. Protection from Physical Damage
Show how temporary conductors or cords crossing walkways or drive aisles will be protected from physical damage and trip hazards.
10. Weatherproof Equipment
All exterior receptacles, cord connections, boxes, and equipment shall be listed for wet or damp locations and provided with weatherproof covers where required.
11. Electrical Floor Plan
Provide a floor plan of the demonstration cabin indicating lighting outlets, receptacles, equipment, panelboard (if provided), and circuit layout.
12. Label Temporary Installation
Add a note to the plans stating:
"This electrical installation is for a temporary demonstration sleeping cabin only and shall be removed upon termination of the demonstration in accordance with 2023 NEC Article 590."
13. Working space
Show the working space about the service equipment for the cabin, e.g. Temp Panel
