11/13/2024 | Historic | REQUIRES RESUBMIT | Property is listed as a contributor to the Sunshine Mile National Register Historic District. Removal of the character-defining store front will adversely impact the status. If the storefront is removed, you will not be able to participate in or receive the benefits of the UOD. Per owner's response: Onyx response: The owner wishes to maintain the historic designation of the building to preserve the incentives for the redevelopment of this building according to the Sunshine Mile overlay standards. Further claims that Jodie had said "the storefront has been revised to maintain the historic character" The Sunshine Mile prohibit delisting/negative impact. Please send your plans to the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) for a determination of "no adverse effect". To ensure that the proposed store front demo is consistent with the district, I would recommend that you run your plans by the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) for a courtesy review. Susan Lawson is the SHPO Architect and her email address is slawson@azstateparks.gov. Resubmit SHPO comments for historic reconsideration. Questions: Michael.Taku@tucsonaz.gov |
