COMMENTS:

1. Please provide general room exhaust for appliances that are located in the kitchen area and do not require a Type II hood (e.g. dishwasher, etc). The minimum exhaust rate shall be 0.70 CFM per square foot, using a minimum area of 100 square feet for each individual appliance. Reference: Section 507.1, exception 6, IMC 2024.
2. The water heater venting information is inconsistent between the plumbing and mechanical plans. Plumbing plans indicate power direct venting with a concentric vent kit, while mechanical plans (Keynote 6, Sheet M200) indicate an atmospheric vent. Please clarify the water heater venting type and revise the plans to provide consistent venting information. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2024.
3. Please clarify whether the rooftop unit replacements are like-for-like replacements. If the new RTUs have different input ratings or fuel demands than the existing units, provide the gas piping information, including equipment input ratings, total connected gas load, and gas piping sizing calculations, to verify compliance. Reference: section 402, IFGC 2024.
4. Please show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drains from the rooftop HVAC units. Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2024 as amended by the City of Tucson.

COMMENTS:

1. Please verify that the distance from the hot water source to the hot water termination for the lavatories complies with the requirements of Section C404.5, IECC 2024 (e.g., 24” for ½” hot water supply piping).
2. Please specify metering faucets for the lavatories (LAV-1), dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Verify that the faucet cycle will last for at least 10 seconds. Reference: Section 412.13, IPC 2024, as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 606.4, ICC/ANSI A117.1-09.
3. Clarify whether the water heater is a like-for-like replacement. If the water heater has a different input rating or fuel demand, provide a gas piping layout/template showing the gas pipe sizes, developed length, and total connected load to verify compliance. Reference: section 402, IFGC 2024.
4. Please clarify the water heater venting method and provide details demonstrating compliance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. If the water heater is an atmospheric vent appliance, provide details for the required combustion air openings and vent connection. The specified A. O. Smith GCR-30R appears to be an atmospheric vent water heater with a draft hood. Reference: Section 304 & 503.1, IFGC 2024.
