In accordance with SECTION 107 of the 2018 IBC and the PDSD Building Plan Requirements:
1. Provide plans sealed by an Arizona Registrant. Reference: Arizona Revised Statutes 32-125, Board of Technical Registration Rules R4-30-304.
2. Provide a complete Set of Heating/Cooling Load Calculations. The load calculations must be sealed by a design professional registered in Arizona. IMC 312. Please verify the number of moderately active people in this building is 78, that appears to be high.
3. Show that the proposed replacement rooftop units meet the requirements of Sections C403.3, C403.4, and C403.5 (e.g. provide the mechanical compliance certification from COMcheck). Reference: Section C501.4, International Energy Conservation Code 2018.
4. Verify that the parapet height within ten feet of rooftop units RTU-1 and RTU-4 are at least 42” above the walking surface of the roof or provide guards for the units per Section 304.11, IMC 2018.
5. Condensate drains shall be terminated at an approved disposal location. Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson.
6. Provide an engineering evaluation from an Arizona registered engineer to indicate the existing roof structure can support the new RTU. The evaluation to include calculations, plans/details for the support of such equipment. IBC 107.2.7 Alternatively, provide the weight of existing RTU to be removed and a comparison to the new RTU’s weight. If the new RTU weighs less than the existing, removed RTU engineering evaluation is not required.
