Sheet A101 – Show fire separation distance (FSD) of new metal shop horizonal projection to the vertical edge of the overhang in compliance with 2018 IBC table 705.2. (C5/A101) 5’-6” FSD to the exterior wall is shown but overhang projection distance missing. Is it over 40 inch? 5. Sheet A101 – F6/A101 shows 1 HR rated ceiling/floor without UL listed detail. How does this work with existing ceiling/floor? Demolition sheet D101 does not show scope of this existing ceiling/floor and walls. 6. Sheet A101 – Missing exit travel distance from F-1 occupancy through metal shop in G2/A101. 7. Sheet A101 – G2/A101 note states that “no change to existing exit configuration…” however, new wood shop occupants are exiting through the new metal shop. Show complete egress plan to clarify. Show new equipment to provide defined exit access way. A4/A200 shows new equipment but not shown in egress plans. 8. Sheet A101 – G2/A101 does not show the room labels such as new metal shop and it’s added occupancy load calculation. 9. Sheet A101 – G2/A101 does not provide occupancy of outdoor work area 146. Where do these occupants exit? How does door G02 classify as exit door when door schedule in A400 notes “lock to match existing.” Doors/Gates should comply with 2018 IBC section 1010? 10. Sheet A101 – in floor plans G2 and G4, identify all the exit doors. For example, G03 door schedule notes “pad lock to match existing” – How does this “pad lock” complying with 2018 IBC means of egress section 1010? 11. Sheet M1.0 - A200 shows new equipment MS1 with exhaust but not shown in mechanical plan. 2. Sheet M1.0 – Metal shop ventilation calc shows per OSHA requirements 2,000 CFM per welding station then if 6 then isn’t it 12,000 CFM not 6,000 CFM? Sheet A200 shows 12 future welding booths so were they accounted for in supplying outdoor air required in section 403.2? 3. Sheet M1.0 – Explain and clarify the ventilation methods accordance with 2018 IMC chapter 4. Where is the mechanical ventilation per section 403? How is the minimum ventilation rates in table 403.3.1.1 Education: Wood/metal shops considered? This table note g. states “Mechanical exhaust is required and recirculating from such spaces is prohibited except that recirculation shall be permitted where the resulting supply airstream consists of not more than 10 percent air recirculated from these spaces.” None of the mechanical ventilation is shown.
