Code reference, 2018 International Building Code (IBC), 2017 National Electrical Code (NEC).


1. The City of Tucson has currently adopted the 2017 National Electrical Code. Provide compliance with the adopted codes and show the correct code reference on the provided plans. REF sheet E1-1, Electrical General Notes, B for an example of the incorrect code reference. REF sheet G0-0, Code Analysis.
2. Provide Fault Current Analysis and show new equipment AIC rating sufficient to withstand the calculated Fault Current. Provide Available Fault Current calculations from TEP transformers to all new equipment, 2017 NEC 110.24.
3. Show new Panel’s and other new equipment with AIC ratings greater than or equal to the Available Fault Currents calculated, 2017 NEC 110.10.
4. Provide electrical load calculations, for the Main Services, Per NEC 220.40.
5. Provide complete compliance with the 2018 IECC for the interior lighting including sensors and lighting controls as required. (Typically, COMcheck).

06/12/2025 Commercial Plumbing Standard REQUIRES RESUBMIT 1. Provide the civil site plan referenced on sheet P1.0 showing the route of the building sewer to the public sewer. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018.
2. Specify the material of construction for the building sewer. Reference: Section 702.3, IPC 2018.
3. Show the location of all cleanouts for the building sewer. Provide a cleanout in the building sewer prior to entering the right-of-way. Reference: Pima County Standard Detail RWRD 401, 2021 and Section 703.5, IPC 2018.
4. Provide sizing calculations and specifications for the proposed grease interceptor. Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson.
5. Provide a vent downstream of the gravity grease separator to protect the seal for the grease separator. Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson.

2. Provide an outdoor lighting plan that meets the requirements of OLC 104.2. Show/locate the different light sources on your site plan. Number the light fixtures on your lighting fixture table and use the same number on your site plan.
3. List the Lighting Area per OLC chapter 3 and used in Table 401.1. Specify the compliance option from Table 401.1 that is being used. Total outdoor light output shall not exceed the lumen limits listed in Table 401.1.
4. Show compliance with City of Tucson Outdoor Lighting Code with an approved lighting calculation in accordance with OLC 104.2.1, 401.2. Include all exterior fixtures on the property in the calculations. List shielded and unshielded lights in the calculation. Show unshielded fixtures with a maximum of 3,000 lumens, OLC 401.4. Show lamps with a maximum of 3500K color temperature, OLC 402.1.
5. Fixtures installed under canopies and overhangs. Outdoor lighting fixtures shall not be counted in determining the total light output when they are full cutoff light fixtures installed under canopies, building overhangs, or roof eaves, OLC 401.2.1(3).
6. Indicate whether or not a special inspection is required per sec. 104.2.2, and 106.2.

As per the City of Tucson Outdoor Lighting Code the digital menu as shown on sheet A4.01 shall automatically dims to 200 NITS or less from sunset to sunrise. OLC 501.5

1. As Development Package (DP) TD-DEV-0525-00145 has not completed it’s first review Zoning cannot review the plans for compliance. Zoning will review the building plans for compliance with the DP once the DP has completed its first review. Until the DP is approved by all review agencies Zoning cannot approve this DP.

06/12/2025 Water - PDSD Standard REQUIRES RESUBMIT 1. Reduced pressure backflow prevention assemblies are required to be installed directly after the water meter for buildings that have food service facilities. Reference: Chapter XXVII, Article V, Section 27-72, the Tucson Code, https://www.tucsonaz.gov/files/sharedassets/public/city-services/tucson-water/water-quality/documents/backflow-ordinance.pdf.
2. Show the location and size of the proposed water meter, backflow preventer, and the water service pipe on a site plan. The development package is not a substitute for a complete site plan. Reference: Section 107.2.1 and 107.2.6, IBC 2018.
3. The installation of the reduced pressure assembly shall be, “…outside, above ground, as close as possible to the water meter or service connection as possible and on private property...” (see Tucson Water Standard Detail SD-1802).
4. Provide the expected water demand that the water meter will serve. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018.
