COMMENTS:
1. Ensure that the facility is accessible complying to the ICC/ANSI A117.1 for both Employees and Customers internally as well as accessible route from drop off to front door. Provide drawings that illustrate the ANSI accessible counter at the cashier in both height and width requirements per 2009 ANSI A117.1 Figure 904.3(B).
2. Lavatories w/ knee guard, water closets shall be handicapped accessible, ANSI A117 compliant. Lavatory faucet operator shall also be metered. The metering faucet shall dispense a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Verify that the faucet cycle will last for at least 10-seconds for accessibility. Reference: Section 412.11, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 606.4, ICC/ANSI A117.1-09.
3. Code requires that accessibility be provided to the altered space. Where the existing path of travel elements, which entails a primary entrance, a primary path of travel, sanitary facilities serving the area and signs. If these items are in full compliance with the current code, provide a statement indicating this on the cover sheet of the drawings. Otherwise, accessibility upgrades shall be required in accordance with IEBC.305.7.

If the cost of providing or upgrading the items above to be accessible is disproportionate to the cost of construction (exceeds 20% of the cost of construction not including accessibility upgrades), please provide information to verify construction costs. If this exemption is taken, accessibility upgrades equaling 20% of the cost of the project shall be made. For example, the Restroom is not code compliant.

2 The voltage ratings of the electrical equipment do not correlate with each other. The electrical line diagram shows the AC System voltage at 120/240 volts. The panel schedule for panel ‘MDP’ shows 120/208 volts. The panel schedule for panel ‘K’ shows 120/240 volts. The load summary shows 120/208 volts. Please clarify.

06/18/2024 Commercial Mechanical REQUIRES RESUBMIT Spaces in which factory-built recirculating hoods tested in accordance with UL 710B are installed are considered to be kitchens and shall be ventilated per Section 403.3.1.1, IMC 2018. The minimum exhaust rate shall be 0.70 CFM per square foot, using a minimum area of 100 square feet for each individual cooking appliance. The equipment plans show four cooking appliances, a roller grill, a microwave oven, an Unox oven, and a Turbo Chef oven. Reference: Section 507.1, exception 2, IMC 2018.
