Inquire regarding the following: C3 zone Shelter Care allowed with S[2] Permitted as Special Exception Use and Zoning Examiner Special Exception Procedure section 3.4.3 where item C The applicant is required to conduct a neighborhood meeting and item G provide notice of the meeting & a public hearing must be held. Please correct your Code Review on Sheet T-1 to reflect what you are requesting. Make sure to enter the correct Use (whether it is Group Home, Behavioral Health, Assisted Living, Day Care, etc.), the correct Occupancy Group, the correct occupant load. Automatic Sprinkler is mentioned on Sheet T-1 as Yes provided by others. Please submit to Tucson Fire Department for review and approval, the fire inspection approval document will be required before issuing the Certificate of Occupancy. While coordinating with the fire department, discuss with them the possible need for Fire Alarm, Lighted Exit Signs and Emergency Lights with battery backup. Electrical work (conductors/wiring/breaker ONLY) related to the installation of Emergency Lights, Lighted Signs, Audible Fire/Smoke Alarms shall also be reviewed as part of this permit & will be inspected by City of Tucson inspectors [please locate those equipments (to be inspected by the Fire Department) on your plans so that our inspectors will know what wiring/breaker to inspect]. Submit your revised drawings. NOTE: I-1 Occupancy maximum allowable is 16 clients excluding staff who reside on a 24 hour basis for alcohol & drug center, group homes, halfway houses, residential care facility, social rehabilitation faciity, etc. & R-4 maximum allowable is 10 clients. If you desire more than 16 clients, a variance will become necessary. Include a statement as part of your code analysis as to how the facility handles any persons receiving custodial care who require limited verbal or physical assistance responding to an emergency situation to complete building evacuation and self preservation.
