The scope of this review covers the architectural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical designs as they relate to the codes adopted by the jurisdiction. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided. All portions of this project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval. Per 2018 IMC Table 403.3.1.1 the outside air to be provided for a beauty salon is 20 CFM per person, and not 7.5 CFM per person. This adjusts the calculation of required outdoor air from 810 CFM to 1,372 CFM. a. 45 persons x 20 CFM per person equals 900 CFM b. 0.12 CFM per s.f. x 3,934 s.f. equals 472 CFM c. Total outdoor air required is 1,372 CFM The 2 air handlers are providing a total of only 1,200 CFM of outdoor air (600 CFM per air handler). The outdoor air falls 172 CFM short of the required outdoor CFM.
