The installation of an AC unit for the dwelling will require a heating/cooling load calculation to justify the capacities of the unit being installed (Sections R403.7, IECC 2018). The units themselves will also have to comply with Sections R403.1 and R503.1.2, IECC 2018 for efficiency and controls. 3. It appears that new gas piping will be required. Provide a gas piping layout including all loads, pipe sizes, and developed pipe lengths from the gas meter to each load. 4. Provide a structural analysis of the existing roof to determine if the new AC unit will be safely supported. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2018. |
