The 2024 International Mechanical Code and the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code, with Local Amendments are the relevant codes for this project, not the 2024 IRC. 2. Replacement of AC units for the apartment building will require a heating/cooling load calculation to justify the capacities of the units being installed. The efficiency rating of the replacement units will have to be equal to or exceed the minimum required by federal law for this geographic location. All single-phase equipment not operational on January 1, 2023, in the Southwest region, must have an EnergyGuide label identifying a SEER2 or SEER2/EER2 rating.
