3. Please amend the plans to show the number of occupants for the floor or direct me to where the number of occupants is located, as I could not find it. IBC 107.2.3
4. Please explain the stairway shown on the drawings, as this is described in the code analysis as a single-story structure. Is the upstairs area a part of this occupancy? If not, what is the occupancy and is it a different tenant space? IBC 107.2.1
5. Related to #4 above, if this is a different tenant, are they exiting through the same space?
6. IEBC 305.7 requires that accessibility be provided to the altered spaces. Where the existing path of travel elements, which entails a primary entrance, a primary path of travel, sanitary facilities serving the area, a drinking fountain, and signs. If these items are in full compliance with the current code, provide a statement indicating this on the cover sheet of the drawings. Otherwise, accessibility upgrades shall be required in accordance with IEBC.305.7. For example, does the bathroom have grab bars?

If the cost of providing or upgrading the items above to be accessible is disproportionate to the cost of construction (exceeds 20% of the cost of construction not including accessibility upgrades), please provide information to verify construction costs. If this exemption is taken, accessibility upgrades equaling 20% of the cost of the project shall be made.

Electrical Review:
1. Provide GFCI protection for receptacle within 6 feet of sinks, per NEC 210.8(B)(5). >> 2nd floor receptacles.
2. Provide complete compliance with the 2018 IECC for the interior lighting including sensors and lighting controls as required. (Typically, COMcheck).

Outdoor Lighting Review:

1. Provide an outdoor lighting plan that meets the requirements of OLC 104.2. Show/locate the different light sources on your site plan. Number the light fixtures on your table and use the same number on your site plan.
2. Show compliance with City of Tucson Outdoor Lighting Code with an approved lighting calculation in accordance with OLC 3.1.2. Include all exterior fixtures on the property in the calculations. Show unshielded fixtures with a maximum of 3,000 lumens, OLC 401.4. Show lamps with a maximum of 3500K color temperature, OLC 402.1.
3. Fixtures installed under canopies and overhangs. Outdoor lighting fixtures shall not be counted in determining the total light output when they are full cutoff light fixtures installed under canopies, building overhangs, or roof eaves, OLC 401.2.1(3).
4. Show compliance with total outdoor light output per 2012 City of Tucson/Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code section 401.2. Total outdoor light output shall not exceed the lumen limits listed in Table 401.1. 4. E1.1 – Lighting Code section 104.2.2.
5. Submit catalogue or specification sheets of all proposed new outdoor lighting fixtures illustrating the type of fixture, color temperature, lumens rating and whether full cut-off or unshielded.
