| 07/28/2025 | Commercial Plumbing Standard | REQUIRES RESUBMIT | The City of Tucson drinking fountain policy allows a listed and labeled water dispenser connected to the potable water distribution system to be used in lieu of the required drinking fountains. A water dispenser that is not connected to the potable water distribution system may be substituted for not more than 50% of the required drinking fountains. Reference: Sections 410.3 and 410.4, IPC 2018. [Initial comment: Clarify how the “water filler” located at the existing sink serves as a point of use water dispenser. The use of a point-of-use water dispenser in lieu of a drinking fountain requires the installation of a listed and labeled dispenser along with a permanently mounted disposable cup dispenser. The cup dispenser shall be located adjacent to the water dispenser with the dispensing end between 34” and 48” above the finished floor.
