Unless the existing kitchen hood is a Type I and has been factory-built and tested in accordance with UL 710, the minimum air flow rates shall conform to the requirements of Section 507.5.3, IMC 2018. Reference: Section 507.1, IMC 2018.
2. Show that the dimensions of the existing hood complies with the overhang and setback requirements of Section 507.4, IMC 2018 with the proposed appliances.
05/23/2024 Commercial Plumbing REQUIRES RESUBMIT 1. Provide a schematic diagram of the natural gas distribution system showing the pipe sizes and pipe material, the appliance loads, and the developed length from the gas meter to each appliance. Reference: Section 402, IFGC 2018.
2. Show how the new prep sink will be indirectly wasted to the grease waste system. Reference: Section 802.1, IPC 2018.
3. The minimum size for a hydromechanical grease interceptor is rated at a minimum of 25 GPM with a grease capacity of 50 pounds. A maximum of 4 plumbing fixtures may discharge to a hydromechanical grease interceptor. A dishwasher may not discharge to a hydromechanical grease interceptor; a gravity grease interceptor must be used. Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson.
4. Determine if the hand sinks in the kitchen are discharging through a grease interceptor. If not, affix a sign to each sink stating, “HANDWASH SINK ONLY! NO FOOD PREPARATION OR DISHWASHING ALLOWED.” Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson.

1. Sheet A0.0: The Energy Code Analysis appears to include values for Metal Buildings. Please explain why this is included in these drawings? IBC 107.2.1
2. Sheet A0.0: Please revise the Project Information, on the Occupancy Classification row, use: indicates Group A and a code reference of 304.1. Since this appears to be a restaurant, Assembly Group A-2 and IBC reference 303.3 would seem to be a better fit.
3. Sheet A0.0: Please revise Project Information, on the Exit Access/Egress/Stairs/Elevators row, “Occupancy Group B is shown” please revise as it appears the occupant load is 53, exceeding the limit for small Group A occupancies IBC 303.1.2
4. Sheet A0.0: Project Scope #3. states: “Demolition of existing walls, and flooring, limited new walls, and update restrooms for ADA compliance.” Please expand this note to include the extent of work that is included with the bathroom update, and the associated drawings, as none is apparent on the plans. IBC 107.2.1
5. Sheet A1.0: Please amend plans to provide a dimensioned floor plan to include dimensions of rooms, corridors, doors, etc. IBC 107.2.1
6. Sheet A1.0: Please amend plans to provide illumination for the means of egress, including the exit discharge per IBC 1008. Show compliance with the following:
A. The means of egress shall be illuminated at all times the building space is occupied.
B. The means of egress illumination level shall not be less than 1 foot-candle at the walking surface.
C. The means of egress illumination shall be supplied by backup power (consisting of storage batteries, unit equipment, or an on-site generator) for a duration of not less than 90 minutes. IBC 1008.3
7. Sheet A1.0: Please amend plans to provide exit signs as required by IBC 1013.
8. Sheet A1.0: Doors serving a Group A occupancy with an occupant load of 50 or more shall be provided with panic hardware or fire exit hardware. Please update the plan and/or Door Schedule as applicable. IBC 1010.1.10
9. Sheet A1.0: Please amend plans to show occupant load sign and placement. Every room or space which is used for assembly, dining, drinking, or similar purposes having an occupant load of 50 or more shall have the occupant load posted near the main exit. IBC 1004.9
10. Sheet A1.0: Please amend plans to show at least one of each type of sales counter and service counter shall be accessible and comply with ICC A117.1. A portion of the counter surface that is 36 inches long minimum and 34 inches high maximum A.F.F. shall be provided. Clear floor space and toe and knee clearance shall be provided based on the direction of approach. IBC 1109.12.3, ICC A117.1
