1. Add to the list of applicable code on sheet A-1.1 the 2018 International Existing Building Code, ICC A117.1- 2009 Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities, and the City of Tucson/ Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code.
2. Note on the drawings that fire extinguishers shall be installed in accordance with 2018 IFC section 906.2.
3. Provide a life safety egress plan for the repair bays showing the distance to the exit from the remote corners. An S-1 occupancy un-sprinklered would only allow 100 ft for the maximum path of travel per table 1006.2.1 for one exit < 30 occupants. It is unclear if the area will meet this requirement with the addition of chain fencing and the additional bay/tool cart obstructions to the path.
4. Provide a dimensioned plan and details for the new accessible entry including construction details (such as depth of concrete, substrate) and door clearance requirements inside and exterior. Clarify if this is to have a curb ramp to the parking lot or if the area will be “flush” with the parking lot.
5. Provide dimensions on the enlarged floor plan showing the width of hallway 107 next to the newly proposed manager’s office wall.
6. Show the required door clearance for the men’s toilet room 117 where the existing door is being changed to a larger door. ICC A117.1 figure 404.2.3.2.
7. Provide details and dimensions for the installation of the new chain link fencing to be installed in the parts storage. Include details for the installation of the poles into the existing floor. Include the dimensions from the existing exit door at the north of the space to the new fence.
8. Note on the drawings that all new interior wall and ceiling finishes will be class c or better. 2018 IBC Table 803.13.
9. Indicate the u factor and SHGC requirements for the new windows on the door and window notes sheet A7.1 that is in compliance with the 2018 IECC table C402.4.

1. Clarify if the existing bay area has existing exhaust fans per 2018 IMC. The proposed renovations are to add new car bays and new mechanical equipment to the existing repair bays. It is unclear if this area has sufficient existing natural
ventilation. 2018 IMC 403.3.1.

1. Provide an interior lighting COMcheck (or other approved methodologies) or indicate on the drawings that less than 10 percent of the lights are being replaced and such alterations do not increase the installed lighting power. 2018 IECC C503.6 exception.
2. Indicate the exit signage on the electrical lighting plans. Coordinate with the reflected ceiling plan sheet A-4.1. 2018 IBC 1013.1.
3. Indicate the location of the emergency lighting in the event of a power failure with battery backup on the electrical lighting plan. 2018 IBC 1008.3.1.
4. Indicate the location of an existing emergency light on the exterior at the exit doors to illuminate the landings or indicate new fixtures will be provided. 2018 IBC 1008.3.2 (5).
5. Indicate the location of all “night lighting” on the plans for egress illumination or indicate light sensors will be used. All rooms and usable floor surfaces in a building shall be equipped with artificial lighting and shall be illuminated at all times that the space is occupied. 2018 IBC 1008.2.
