Structural general notes are to include any components of the building that may be considered deferred submittals. IBC Section 107.3.4.1 requires deferred submittals to be approved by the building official.
If items will be deferred the plans are to clearly note the following per IBC Section 107.3.4.1:
* To be reviewed by design professional in responsible charge.
* Design professional shall affix a notation that the deferred items are in general conformance with their design of the building.
* They shall be submitted for review by the building official.
* Shall not be installed until approved by building official.


BUILDING REVIEW COMMENTS:

1. Sheet A0.01: The edition listed for the International Energy Conservation Code is incorrect. Provide the correct edition of the IECC that is adopted and enforced by the City of Tucson.
2. Sheet A0.01: The edition listed for the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design is incorrect. Provide the correct edition of the ADAAG that is adopted and enforced by the City of Tucson.
3. Sheet A0.01: It is indicated that separated occupancies is being used. Provide the sum of the ratios of the actual building area calculations in accordance with Section 508.4.2.
4. Sheet A0.03-A0.05: The occupant load calculations provided are incorrect. It appears that there are some assembly spaces in addition to several different types of spaces that will require additional calculations. Provide a space by space occupant load calculation based on the use of the space in accordance with Section 1004.3 and Table 1004.5.
NOTE: There is a distinct difference between occupancy classification and occupancy use. The exceptions provided in
Section 303.1.2 apply to that of classification and the requirements of max. allowable area, height, stories, mix-use requirements and overall classification of the building. However, when calculating occupant loads, one must calculate based on the use of the space. The conference rooms, enclosed courtyards, and briefing room are required to be calculated as assembly spaces. The R-2 area must be calculated based on use and not potential shift numbers. The occupant load must be calculated as such in accordance with Section 1004 and Table 1004.5.
1. Sheet A0.03-A0.05: Based on updated occupant load calculation, several spaces will have doors swinging in the incorrect direction. Provide correctly swinging doors in accordance with Section 1010.1.2.1.
2. Sheet A3.01: The doors that penetrate the fire barriers that separate the occupancies are not rated appropriately. Provide properly rated doors in the fire barriers in accordance with Section 707.6 and Table 716.1(2).
3. Sheet A6.01: Roof drainage sizing calculations have not been provided. Provide roof drain sizing calculations to the roof plan in accordance with Section IPC 1106.1 & 1106.2.
4. Sheet A6.01: GPM discharge amounts have not been provided for the roof/drain overflows. Provide the roof/drain overflows in accordance with Section IPC 1106.2
