Replacement of evaporative cooling units with air conditioning units will require drawings sealed by an Arizona Registrant because design of a ventilation system is required to meet the current ventilation requirements shown in Section 403.3.2, IMC 2018. A test and balance report is required to verify that the ventilation air flow rates comply with the code requirements. 2. A heating/cooling load calculation will be required to justify the capacity of the unit being installed (Sections R403.7, IECC 2018). The unit itself will also have to comply with Sections R403.1 and R503.1.2, IECC 2018 for efficiency, controls, and ductwork. 3. Provide the specifications for the proposed heat pump. The unit shall comply with Sections R403.1 and R503.1.2, IECC 2018 and shall comply with the Department of Energy efficiency requirements that went into effect on January 1, 2023. 4. Provide guards for equipment located within 10 feet of a roof edge or of a walking surface that is elevated more than 30 inches above the adjoining grade. Reference: Section 304.11, IMC 2018. 5. Show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drains. Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2018 as amended by the City of Tucson. |
