Plan review for the above referenced project has been completed. This letter reflects comments to be addressed. PLEASE send all response to comments back to the City through the permit portal! Responses sent directly to Stantec will be ignored. Also, please submit complete copies of all permit documents (i.e. plans, calculations, reports, etc.) even if they have not been changed. Please cloud and delta all changes and provide a letter with a written response to each of the comments indicating the action taken.

The scope of this review covers the architectural, structural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical designs as they relate to the codes adopted by the jurisdiction. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided. All portions of this project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval.

GENERAL COMMENTS

1. The nature of this proposed tenant space appears to be an office/testing laboratory based on the rooms with workbenches and eye wash stations. Are hazardous chemicals involved in the testing process? If so, please provide which ones and the quantities. We are trying to determine is control area will be needed. {I noticed the cabinet in the workshop. Is this a fire cabinet?} [Ref. IBC 2018 Sec. Table 307.1 & Sec. 414]


ARCHITECTURAL COMMENTS

Sheet G1

1. The code block indicates the plans designed to meet the 2016 NEC. Please revise this to reflect the 2017 NEC as adopted by the City of Tucson.

Sheet D1

1. Keynote 13 of the demolition plan keynotes is not located on the plan. Please indicate the location of keynote 13 on the demolition plan.

Sheet A1

1. Plans have conflicting information. Keynote 14 indicates that the sink and eye was station are to be future fixtures and only plumbing to be to be installed and capped but sheet P1 of the plumbing plans indicates the fixtures to be installed. Please clarify and coordinate.

Sheet A5

1. The detail indicated for drilling of the existing post-tensioned concrete is not stamped by an engineer for compliance. Please have the design reviewed by an engineer to verify structural compliance with proposed no drilling zones, concrete column clearance, and 8” core allowance. Please also clarify the elements of the detail. What does the tightly spaced hatches represent? The dimensions from the column indicate 30” but the description says a clearance of 36” from the column. Please clarify.
