COMMENTS:
1. COMPLETE SET OF DRAWINGS
a. Please submit a complete set of drawings that includes the following:
i. Architectural
ii. Mechanical
iii. Plumbing
iv. Electrical
v. NOTE: each discipline to seal/sign/date their own drawings.
2. LAYOUT
a. The new space layout is totally different from the previous tenant space.
b. The new demising wall has a new configuration.
i. Please provide wall detail drawings.
ii. Provide detail drawing at the bottom of the wall.
iii. Provide detail drawing at the top illustrating wall to the underside of the roof deck.
iv. Indicate the required wall fire rating and show detail drawing reflecting that fire rating.
c. New interior wall,
i. Provide wall detail drawings.
ii. Show lateral support detail drawing at top of wall.
3. WATER DISPENSER
a. Where the Building and Plumbing Codes require a drinking fountain, the City of Tucson will accept point of use water dispenser in lieu of the classically recognized drinking fountain.
b. The water dispenser must be listed and labeled in accordance with the Code.
c. The water dispenser must be connected to a permanent supply of potable water.
d. The water supply must be indicated on the plans and installed per code.
e. A clear floor space shall be provided for the cooler in compliance with chapter 6 of ICC A117.1.
f. A permanently mounted disposable cup dispenser shall be installed adjacent to the cooler with the dispensing end between 34" and 48" above finish floor and show the clear floor space complying to chapter 3 ICC A117.1 section 602.4.
4. PLUMBING
a. SERVICE SINK
i. Locate/label the service sink on the floor plan.
5. RESTROOM
a. The previous restroom configuration is handicap accessible.
b. The new proposal effectively renders the handicap accessible restroom into Not Accessible.
c. Please keep the existing restroom, otherwise below are the code requirement for the required accessible restroom.
d. Clearance width around a water closet shall be 60 inches minimum in width, measured perpendicular from the sidewall per ICC A117.1 sec 604.3.1
e. 604.3.2 Clearance depth around the water closet shall be 56 inches minimum in depth, measured perpendicular from the rear wall.
f. 604.3.3 The clearance overlap around the water closet shall be permitted to overlap the water closet, associated grab bars, paper dispensers, sanitary napkin receptacles, coat hooks, shelves, accessible routes, clear floor space at other fixtures and the turning space. No other fixtures or obstructions shall be within the required water closet clearance. FIGURE 604.3
6. CASHIER: provide drawings illustrating the following
a. Electrical/Communication: please include the cash counter power requirement on the electrical drawing.
b. The tops of dining surfaces & work surfaces shall be 28 inches min & 34 inches max above the floor per ICC A117.1 sec 902.4.
c. Sec 306.3.3 Knee clearance shall be 11 inches min in depth at 9 inches above the floor, and 8 inches min in depth at 27 inches above the floor.
d. Sec 306.2.4 Additional toe clearance space extending greater than 6 inches beyond the available knee clearance at 9 inches above the floor.
e. Sec 306.3 Knee clearance shall be 30 inches min in width.
f. 904.3.2 Parallel approach, the counter surface 36 inches min length.
g. 904.3.3 Forward approach, the counter surface 30 inches min length.
7. Please don’t forget to provide the Code Analysis necessary to complete the Certificate of Occupancy document. Include the exit width calculations and the Minimum Plumbing Fixtures required calculation. As part of your code analysis, include an Egress Plan showing the route from the most remote location, indicate the distance traveled, what is the maximum travel distance allowed, etc.

1. The previous approved CofO was for a hair salon and there appears to be significant floorplan changes. Permit: T08OT02583.
2. Provide as-built electrical plans that show compliance with the relevant IEBC chapter 10, and NEC for change of use from hair salon to a tattoo parlor.

1007.4 Number of electrical outlets.
Where the occupancy of an existing building or part of an existing building is changed, the number of electrical outlets shall comply with NFPA 70 for the new occupancy.
The number of outlets that are inherent to an area undergoing a change of occupancy must meet NFPA 70 requirements for the new occupancy.

3. Provide a panel schedule, showing all existing circuits that and any that are added, removed or modified. NEC arts;300 and 408.4. Include panel bus rating and A.I.C. rating. IBC 107.1.
4. Designate the circuit number on the electrical plans, that corresponds to the panel schedule, at the location of each existing, receptacles, etc., NEC arts;300 and 408.4. IBC 107.1. Each electrical outlet should be labeled by panel and circuit number.
