a. The provided equipment and room designations indicate that patient care will be provided in the ‘examination rooms’. These spaces are required to meet the requirement of NEC 517. See NEC 517.1, “This article applies to electrical construction and installation criteria in health care facilities that provide services to human beings.”
b. The wiring and electrical equipment in the examining rooms and other patient care areas within the office suite are subject to the requirements of Article 517.
2. Provide a clear list of services provided in these ‘examination rooms’ and the ‘triage’ room. Include any state licensing information associated with this installation.

COMMENTS:

1. Provide a design for the mounting shelf for the water heater along with structural calculations to show that the water heater is safely supported from the building structure. Reference: Section 301.2, IPC 2024.
2. Please show that the distance from the hot water source (i.e., the recirculating loop) to the hot water termination for the public lavatory in the bathroom adjacent to the reception area complies with the requirements of Section C404.5, IECC 2018.
3. The water dispenser must be connected to a permanent supply of potable water and must be listed and labeled in accordance with the Code. It must be installed with a permanently mounted disposable cup dispenser. The cup dispenser shall be located adjacent to the water dispenser with the dispensing end between 34” and 48” above the finished floor. 4. Please correct the section on the title sheet referencing the required plumbing fixtures. The occupant load is stated as 20; therefore, a service sink and drinking fountain are required. Reference: Section 2902.1, 2024 IBC.
