The submitted documents were incomplete and a thorough plan review could not be performed. Please be aware, new comments may arise with the next review. COMMENTS: 1. What type of Mercantile entity is your client? Are they a clothing store, jewelry store, a bodega, etc. What do they sell, do they carry soft drinks, liquor, perishable foods, hot dogs, etc? a. A restaurant serving African Cuisine. b. ADDITIONAL COMMENT: As a restaurant, locate and label the area where consumables/perishables are prepared on the floor plan. Submit the specification/catalogue cut sheets for the equipment used. Locate and label the designated area where these perishables are consumed on the floor plan. 2. On the Floor Plan, show the equipment, shelving, display cases, cashier (provide drawings that illustrates the ANSI A117.1 requirement for this cashier counter). a. Display layout added to floorplan. b. ADDITIONAL COMMENT: Submit drawings illustrating the cashier counter complying to the ANSI accessible required height and width for both customer and employee. 3. With the layout from item #2 above (the display layout)..…will additional lights required or existing be moved, etc. If so, provide electrical drawing. a. No additional lights will be required and no existing lights will be moved. b. NO ADDITIONAL COMMENT 4. Submit a Reflected Ceiling Plan illustrating item #3 above as well as air diffusers, return air, lighted exit sign, emergency light with battery backup, etc. a. Added note on plan calling out emergency light with battery backup. b. ADDITIONAL COMMENT: Please clarify that emergency lights with battery backup are installed, locate and label them on the drawing. 5. On the Floor Plan show all existing electrical receptacles. a. Existing electrical receptacles now shown on floorplan. b. ADDITIONAL COMMENT: Locate the power source for the cash register equipment on the floor plan. 6. This structure is sharing wall with the structure on the other side of the properly line, provide drawing illustrating the assembly that complies to the fire rating required as well as the fire rating for portion of the structure that is within 3 feet from the property line. a. Adjacent buildings are 1 ft apart and are built with 8” masonry blocks with no current fireproofing. There is no change of use for the building so it is assumed that no fireproofing is needed. b. ADDITIONAL COMMENT: As a restaurant serving African Cuisine per response to item #1 above, this is a change of use from Mercantile to Restaurant. Please correct your code analysis to reflect this as well as correct your occupancy load calculation to reflect the occupancy A-2 Restaurant. 7. NOTE: there will be inspections conducted, the above drawings will be crucial to be able to do those inspections including fire inspection. This will be required in order to issue a new Certificate of Occupancy. a. Noted. b. NO ADDITIONAL COMMENT 8. ADDITIONAL COMMENT: The sink in Restroom 2 is infringing into the required floor clearance area of 60” x 56” at the water closet. Please relocated the sink complying to the ANSI accessible requirement per ICC ANSI A117.1 figure 604.3 9. ADDITIONAL COMMENT: You show a single door Fridge on your floor plan. Please locate and label the other refrigeration equipment necessary to refrigerate consumables/perishables prepared for this restaurant. 10. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Locate and label warming equipment used to keep consumables/perishables at their required temperature. 11. ADDITIONAL COMMENT: Locate and label the fire extinguisher on the floor plan. 12. ADDITIONAL COMMENT: Locate and label the service sink on the floor plan. 13.
