Campbell Ave. NE corner of Kino Pkwy and Ajo Access Ramp (south dead end of Campbell Ave) Prior modifications required by the Settlement Agreement approved 10/22/2013 Repair Permit Application Second Submittal Comments 1. My concern regarding the proposed replacement of an apparently unknown grounding system remains an issue. As I stated in my previous comment, if the 'existing' grounding system is indeed (2) 8' rods and copper wiring, why would the existing system need to be dug up and replaced? It was not vandalized. If it complied with the code at the time, and if it was not damaged or otherwise compromised, why would it need to be replaced? The Settlement Agreement Exhibit 9, Paragraph 2x allows "… replacement of electrical services, conduit, wiring, and/or meters with like electrical services, conduit, wiring, and/or meters or such reasonably comparable electrical services, conduit, wiring, and/or meters as required to comply with the technical codes." I understand that the cut conductors would need to be replaced, but why the apparently-untouched grounding system? Please provide additional information regarding whether there is an existing grounding system, and if so, what it is composed of. I have no additional comments. Kathi McLaughlin, BRC Reviewer |
