Hood canopies shall extend at least 6” horizontally on all open sides beyond the edge of the top horizontal surface of the appliances (i.e. the pizza ovens) under the hood. Reference: Section 507.1.6.1, IMC 2024. 2. Revise detail A1/M501 to show how the new Type I hood is supported from the building structure. Reference: Sections 302.1 and 507.2.4, IMC 2024. 3. The mechanical plan, M102, shows two high velocity diffusers located in close proximity to the ends of the Type I hood. Verify that the location and type of air outlets complies with the hood manufacturer’s installation instructions and does not reduce the effectiveness of the exhaust system. Reference: Sections 304.1 and 508.1, IMC 2024. |
