1. LETTER FROM ARCHITECT
a. Item #2, patio beam
i. Please ensure the replacement is included within the Engineer’s suggested recommendations within his/her fire damage assessment/report.
b. Item #2, some windows will be replaced
i. On the plan, please identify which window to remain existing and which windows are to be replaced
c. Item #2, electrical
i. Please locate/label the smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector.
d. Item #8, no gas
i. Please add a note on the drawing indicating, no gas used in unit #1.
e. Item #9, Engineer’s reports.
i. The Engineer’s reports were not submitted.
ii. Please submit the engineer’s fire damage assessment.
1. Please ensure to include the engineer’s recommendations as to solutions to the damages such as the replacement structural member sizes along with their structural calculation as he/she desire to include. This includes wall studs and framing and roof/floor joists.
2. Please ensure that the report is sealed/signed/dated by the Structural Engineer.
2. FIRE PARTITION
a. Provide drawings illustrating the condition within the dwelling unit complying to the below code regulation.
b. Fire partitions shall have a fire-resistance rating of not less than 1 hour per IBC 708.3
c. IBC 708.4 Continuity. Fire partitions shall extend from the top of the foundation or floor/ceiling assembly below and be securely attached to one of the following:
i. The underside of the floor or roof sheathing, deck or slab above.
ii. The underside of a floor/ceiling or roof/ceiling assembly having a fire-resistance rating that is not less than the fire-resistance rating of the fire partition.
3. Please resubmit.
