1. GENERAL - MECHANICAL UNITS: Mechanical Plan M1.13B reference new equipment on the roof. New units range from 800 to 2,500 lb each per the schedule on M2.01B. Because these units are in excess of 300 lb, documentation by a licensed structural engineer is recommended to verify that the roof framing has adequate capacity to support these units. Please provide a letter, signed and sealed letter by a structural engineer licensed in the state of Arizona, that states that the existing roof framing has been evaluated and is sufficient to support the new mechanical loading. All structural evaluation shall be in conformance with the 2018 International Building Code and include the minimum design loads prescribed in ASCE 7-16.

In lieu of a sealed letter, the applicant may submit complete structural shell drawings of the existing building, sealed by a professional engineer, for consideration by the Building Official. Shell drawings must clearly indicate the design loads used in the original design of the roof, and these loads should meet or exceed the minimum requirements outlined in the 2018 IBC, the ASCE 7-16 and the proposed mechanical loads as submitted by PKMR Engineers.

Electrical Review of Tucson Commerce Center
By: Ron Ross PE

DMEP.1B Overall MEP Plan - Demolition: Could not locate Keyed Notes 3, 4, and 5.

E2.13B Overall / Enlarged Plan - Power: Could not locate Keyed Note 6.

E3.01B Electrical Schedules: RTU-3 and RTU-4 have undersized circuit breakers and conductors for the loads shown in Panelboard schedule. Should correct loads shown as Mechanical sheet M2.01B does show 70 amp Circuit breakers as correct. Should confirm, coordinate, and correct for IFC set.

If 70 amp Circuit Breakers need to be upsized, resubmit with properly sized conductors.
