Thrall (Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov) Codes: Unified Development Code (UDC 7 and 7A), NEC 600, Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC) and International Building Code (IBC) 2018: 1. Acknowledged the desired relocations of the drive thru signage for this establishment. The following items are required for the permit record, as the structures are treated as new signs for technical code purposes. 2. Per UDC 7.4.6.F.2.a., add note "all drive thru signage structures shall be 1 foot from face of drive thru curb to leading edge of sign structure." 3. Per UDC 7A., add note - total sign area on menu station cabinet and digital cabinet within the order station. 4. Per NEC 600 - add following notes: A) dedicated sign circuit shall be provided and labeled clearly at power panel B) UL / MET equiv. sticker, manufacturer and installer sticker to be on sign structures 5. Per OLC: - add following notes to the plan: A) signs shall not exceed 4400k color temperature B) digital order station shall dim to 200 Nits from sunset to curfew - call out methods for dimming, i.e. photocell and timer together. C) a timing device shall be provided to control all signs D) timer shall shut all signs off at midnight curfew 6. General safety notes: A) all digital sign components shall be compliant with Federal Communication Commission requirements to not interrupt small cellular wireless services B) all detached signs shall be 2' from driveway curbs, 5' from fire hydrants, 18" from adjacent parking and 1' from face of drive thru lane curbing to structure An Arizona licensed electrician or sign contractor is required to be added to this permit package prior to permit issuance.
