The following is the result of research conducted by Mark Masek for Juan Garcia related to this appeal. Juan Garcia will be the final say in this matter. This request should be approved based as it appears the intent of the code is being met. Exterior Exit Stairways 1. The exterior exit stairway with a fire separation distance of less than 10 feet appears to meet the intent of the code as follows. A. The current use of the adjacent site next to the exterior stairway is a parking lot with only horizontal construction. B. If the adjacent structure expanded and is within 10 feet of the property line, by code it will be a 1-hour fire resistive rated wall. This will meet the fire separation distance requirements for the proposed exterior stairway. |
