The portion of the appeal request to extend the travel distance to 106 feet, instead of the 100 feet maximum allowed by code, should be approved based upon the elevated ceiling height and the presence of sprinklers. The portion of the appeal request to not enforce the accessibility requirement of the code, and the accessible means of egress from the public way to the building’s main entry should not be approved. It could be possible to construct the accessible means of egress with a ramp or a lift as we have not heard from a Historic Reviewer regarding this proposal. The manner in which the accessibility of 31 E Toole was permitted under should not influence what is required for this project. |
