Thrall (Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov) Date: 1/11/23 Codes: Unified Development Code (UDC) 7A Sign Standards, National Electrical Code (NEC) 600, Tucson-Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC) and International Building Code (IBC) 2018. 1. UDC comments: UDC 7A.10.2. A) on the site plan, show the bisection of the street corner to clearly identify that the sign is on the Broadway frontage. To do this, simply draw each curb line of Broadway and Treat to a point where they meet, and then cut it equally in half and run that line into the site. This will show the sign is only on the Broadway frontage. B) The SVT on the plan is wrong. Staff pulled the development plan to ensure the sign is out of approved SVTs. Staff is remailing the DP sheet to include with your resubmittal. C) as noted prior review, clearly provide the sign area ins decimal square footage for each cabinet on this sign, and also provide the cumulative square footage of these two cabinets together and ensure they do not exceed 50 square feet in total area. D) the elevation view shows a 15' setback still - just remove that note and leave the setbacks on the site plan 2. NEC / OLC: A) add note confirming the LED rope stripe on the sign is 4400k or less in brightness, as it is part of the sign. B) add note that sign shut off will be via timer set to midnight curfew 3. IBC: A) thanks for engineering - support pole size and footer deign are fine. B) as per prior comment, please just add a note or add a simple diagram that shows HOW the sign cabinets AND the skirting are connected to the support pole. It is assumed you're using the usual saddle / bolt assembly to connect the cabinets, but I need that clarified. I need to know the size / type / number of bolts. Call out the location of each saddle and bolt system on the sign using an arrow or a note. If you have any questions, please email me.
