All code references shall be per the 2018 IBC, 2018 IMC, 2018 IPC, 2017 NEC, and the 2018 IECC (Residential). 2. Key note19 on sheet A1.1 calls for a new hood and range, but sheet M1.1 shows only a new ceiling-mounted, 50-CFM, exhaust fan being installed. The required ventilation for kitchens in private dwellings consists of a minimum of 25 CFM (continuous operation) or 100 CFM (intermittent operation) of mechanical exhaust per room with no recirculation of air. Coordinate the two drawings, specify the type of exhaust appliance (i.e. hood or ceiling fan), and specify either continuous or intermittent operation. Reference: Section 403.3.2.3, IMC 2018. 3. Notes on sheet M1.1 state that the “Existing RTU on roof to remain,” and “RTU No-1 (New).” Is the rooftop unit to be new or will the existing rooftop unit be used? Using a new rooftop unit will require heating/cooling load calculations, complete specifications for the new unit, and a description of the routing and termination of the condensate drain.
