STRUCTURAL REVIEW COMMENTS:
DENIED
Following two review comments had remained un-resolved in the last cycle of review/ submission. Seems like in this cycle of response, the applicant over-looked the un-resolved structural items as they do not seem to have provided the answers and their response letter also states in error that structural items were resolved. REVIEW OPEN.
3. The design wind speed to be considered for wind uplift is 110 mph, this information is missing from the design documents. - response not acceptable as a reference to ASCE 7 design wind speed of 103 mph is made in the response whereas the City of Tucson amendments to the 2018 IBC code requires the design wind speed to be 110 mph minimum. So, the project needs to be re-evaluated to higher design wind speeds of 110 mph versus 105 mph it was designed to. Item OPEN.
4. Design for connectors is not provided, please use a minimum of 110 mph design wind speed when designing connectors for wind uplift. - item open, see 3 above.
