On Appendix D, Shade Study, please revise the study to show shade at 12:00 PM on June 21, and include shade calculations, demonstrating compliance with UDC § 5.12.1.B2.a, which reads: “Except as provided below, shade shall be provided for at least 50% of all sidewalks and pedestrian access paths as measured at 12:00 p.m. on June 21 when the sun is 80 degrees above the horizon. Shade may be provided by trees, arcades, canopies, or shade structures provided their location and design characteristics are compatible with the historic and design context of the street and the architectural integrity of the building . The use of plantings and shade structures in the City right-of-way is permitted to meet this standard with the approval of the Transportation Department. The shade provided by a building may serve to meet this standard.” 2. Please provide materials for historic preservation review, as indicated in the Historic & Special Districts Application Instructions (https://www.tucsonaz.gov/files/sharedassets/public/v/3/pdsd/documents/submission-documents/special_districts_application_instructions_7.18.23.pdf). Because there are historic structures and the El Presidio National Register Historic District adjacent to the site, historic preservation review needed, per UDC § 5.12.6.B and UDC § 11.4.2.
