Historic Districts Documents Confirmation REQUIRES RESUBMIT A minor review was conducted for your project by representatives from PRS and APHZAB. They had the following comments:
Gutter style and color are approved.
All exposed PVC downspouts should be painted to match / compliment the residence.
Please provide images or cut sheets that accurately depict the appearance and basic dimensions of the proposed cisterns. The illustrations provided are inadequate to determine compatibility where visible from the street.
The cistern on the south (17th Street) elevation is not allowable if visible from the street. Per UDC 9-02.7.2(D)8: Cisterns should be placed at non-street-facing elevations and should not block views of architectural features. Given the hip roof geometry and corner lot configuration, we are willing to be flexible, but we recommend a smaller tank and locating it closer to the house. The proposed downspout would be less visible if it were closer to the building.
Please resubmit with additional information requested to confirm that impacts to architectural features are properly mitigated:
Site plan that accurately depicts location and dimensions of proposed cisterns
Images or cut sheets that accurately depict the appearance and basic dimensions of the proposed cisterns, such as a product brochure
Rather than an oversized cistern at the street-visible façade, can you place additional cisterns elsewhere on the property, in a less visible area?
Please revise your Design Package to reflect the above comments. Please resubmit the revised Design Package as a single compressed pdf file under the historic sub record [SD-0425-00047]
