It should be noted that the property is historically designated as a contributor to the district and the proposed modification to the pergola cannot be deemed consistent with the US Secretary of the Interior's Standards. The new arches bring in a design element that is not present on the building and does not appear to be compatible. These types of modifications can lead to de-listing.
