Historic REVIEW COMPLETED Parks and Rec should consider a comprehensive survey of the Reid/Randolph Park both for archaeology (Class III) and Historic rather than piecemealing the reviews.
Absent a comprehensive survey, please submit a Cultural Resources Clearance form for the location of the proposed area of work. Project should also be reviewed by both the Historic Landscape Subcommittee and the Plans Review Subcommittee when submitted for permit. Historic would also recommend a courtesy review with the Historic Landscapes Subcommittee prior to submitting for a permit. Questions? Jodie.Brown@tucsonaz.gov
New Services/JOC REVIEW COMPLETED CIP-0424-00012 - CIP - Dev Site + Comm Structure - Initial v1 - 900 S RANDOLPH WY

The submitted documents do not adequately explain what this project is. The CIP Manager upload form indicates its an interactive water feature, but this doesn’t tell the reader what this interactive water feature is. A better summary of the project needs to be developed for the reviewers to be able to quickly understand what this project is.

I know of only one proposed developer-built water main project in this area with some potential to affect this CIP project: TW-WCP-1223-00125 – the Reid Park Zoo Explansion.

Sheet C7-01 of the Reid Park Plan Set: This utility plan sheet shows a proposed new 4” water line being connected to an existing 12” cast iron water main near the SW baseball field. Tucson water has no 12” cast iron water mains in this area. Tucson Water’s SW161414 valve map does show a private 12” cast iron water main constructed under WO 1781 in this area, but does not show it connected to Tucson Water’s existing water distribution system, or to a well.

Tucson Water’s New Area Development Section strongly recommends that the Project Manager verify the private 12” water main constructed under WO 1781 is a live water main, and the quality of the water conveyed by this private water main is adequate for the proposed use.

Copies of Tucson Water’s SW161414 valve map and the as-builts of WO 1781 may be obtained from Tucson Water’s Mapping & GIS center by sending an e-mail asking for them to TWMapInfo@tucsonaz.gov.
