Per a meeting with John Vincent and Patricia Shelton on September 10, 2024, we are requesting an appeal to 2024 IFC section 311.2.2 “Fire protection systems shall be maintained in an operable condition at all times." There is an existing fire riser in the building. Of the current anticipated projects in the building, a fire sprinkler system is not required in the building or between uses; however, there are some anticipated future projects that may require a fire sprinkler system. We are requesting to keep the existing fire riser – unused and it will continue to be monitored, and either install the potential future required sprinkler system[s] by April of 2026 or remove the riser completely.
