06/05/2009 INSP - FULL RDUARTE Approved Petition of Appeal to the Fire Code Official for: Configuration of exit doors, in violation of Tucson Fire Code 504.2, he had closed the front doors at far east and west of his business.

Decision of the Fire Code Official: Approved with stipulations per Chief Dan Uthe-
East & West doors on the front of bldg shall be covered so they are no longer recognizable as exits from the egress side, or a sign stating "not an exit" shall be affixed to the interior of the door.
The two doors in the center of north wall shall be maintained as the main means of egress.
The door in the office area in rear of bldg shall be maintained as an emergency means of egress. An exit sign shall be affixed on or above the door.
The door in the shop and stockroom area at the rear of the store shall have the exit signage removed. A sign stating "not an exit" shall be affixed to the interior of the door. If the door is to be blocked, a sign stating "This door blocked" shall be affixed to the exterior side of the door. The sign shall consist of letters having a principal stroke of not less than 0.75 inch wide and at least 6 inches high on a contrasting back ground.

The signs shall be in place by June 19, 2009, until the work is completed the doors must be left unlocked during business hours.
