Explanation of why conformance with the above requirement presents an unusual problem: We are a private residence where no contracts are with held, therefore I do not believe we should be recognized by the Tucson Fire Dept as a fraternity.

STATE SPECIFICALLY WHAT IS PROPOSED IN LIEU OF LITERAL COMPLIANCE- If appeal is denied they would like to know if a reclassification to an R-2/non-fraternity is possible if they disassociate themselves with the U of A and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

DECISION OF THE FIRE CODE OFFICIAL: APPEAL IS DENIED BY CHIEF DAN UTHE 11/27/08. The Aggie House meets the definition as soroity or fraternity and as such is required to install an automatic fire sprinkler system.
