DENIED ON 06/29/07. TFC is very clear on locking devices allowed on exit doors for assembly occupancies.

As stated in TFC Section 1027.6, Maintenance of means of Egress. The TFC prohibits the thumb latch on doors with required panic hardware. Exiting from a bldg is a life safety concern that justifies strict adherence of the code.
The locking devices must be removed from the exit doors by July 20, 1007, in the interim the doors must remain unlocked while the bldg is occupied.
