10/26/2026 All excavations shall be secured for safety at the end of each shift. If pedestrian access cannot be maintained, a temporary protected pedestrian route shall be provided. All open trenches shall be protected by Type II barricades with Type A flashers and surrounded by a barrier fence. Trenches deeper than 4 feet shall be surrounded by chain-link fence. Excavations may need to be covered with steel plates or other approved materials at the end of each shift.
10/26/2026 Any sidewalk, curb, curb and gutter, or other public improvements removed, damaged, undermined, or disturbed by the proposed work shall be removed and replaced in accordance with current City of Tucson standards and specifications. Sidewalk replacement shall be to full panel/joint limits; partial panel replacement is not permitted. Match existing line, grade, width, and cross slope while maintaining all applicable accessibility requirements. Restore all disturbed areas within the public right-of-way to equal or better condition.
10/26/2026 Continuous ADA-compliant pedestrian access shall be maintained at all times. If a sidewalk is closed, an approved temporary pedestrian access route shall be provided in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
10/26/2026 Lane and street closures shall be permitted only during active work operations. At the end of each workday, the contractor shall remove all traffic control devices and reopen the roadway, bike lanes, and sidewalks to normal operation. Twenty-four-hour lane closures are not permitted unless specifically approved by the City. Traffic control devices shall not be stored in a bike lane or sidewalk.
10/26/2026 W Congress St is under holiday restriction from the week of Thanksgiving through January 2. No work requiring barricades in the ROW shall occur within the restricted limits during this period
