09/09/2026 All excavations shall be secured for safety at the end of each shift. If pedestrian access cannot be maintained, a temporary protected pedestrian route shall be provided. All open trenches shall be protected by Type II barricades with Type A flashers and surrounded by a barrier fence. Trenches deeper than 4 feet shall be surrounded by chain-link fence. Excavations may need to be covered with steel plates or other approved materials at the end of each shift.
09/09/2026 Lane and street closures shall be permitted only during active work operations. At the end of each workday, the contractor shall remove all traffic control devices and reopen the roadway, bike lanes, and sidewalks to normal operation. Twenty-four-hour lane closures are not permitted unless specifically approved by the City. Traffic control devices shall not be stored in a bike lane or sidewalk.
09/09/2026 The contractor shall protect all existing landscaping and irrigation within the work area. Any landscaping disturbed or damaged by construction activities shall be restored to equal or better condition, including replacement of plant material, decomposed granite or groundcover, irrigation components, and hardscape, as applicable. All repairs shall be completed to the satisfaction of the City Inspector at no cost to the City.
09/09/2026 The contractor shall restore all disturbed pavement in accordance with the City of Tucson Standard Specifications for Public Improvements and applicable standard details. All pavement patches shall match the existing pavement section and surface condition. The contractor shall maintain temporary patches in a safe and drivable condition until permanent restoration is completed. Any settlement, cracking, or pavement failure within the patched area shall be repaired by the contractor at no cost to the City for the duration of the warranty period.
