08/12/2026 Bike Lane Access and Accommodation 1) Posted Speeds 30 Mph or Less – Less than 14 lane - Use of the R4-11 alone is acceptable and preferred over Share The Road sign - 2) Posted Speeds 30 Mph or less – greater than 14 lane - Use of Share The Road sign is preferred 3) Posted Speeds 30 Mph or More – Any Lane Size - Provide a reasonable alternative for cyclists, such as a paved path, space behind barricades, or bike detour. Acceptable to direct cyclists to the sidewalk when properly signed depending on conditions 4) Bike lane to be maintained within Traffic Control closure and Share may Pedestrian detour path with proper R9-6 Sign.
08/12/2026 Lane closures shall only be permitted during active work operations. At the end of each workday, the contractor shall remove all traffic control devices and reopen the roadway, bike lanes, and sidewalks to normal operation. Twenty-four (24) hour lane closures are not permitted unless specifically approved by the City. Traffic Control Devices shall not be stored in the bike lane or sidewalk - The contractor shall restore all disturbed pavement in accordance with the City of Tucson Standard Specifications for Public Improvements and applicable standard details. All pavement patches shall match the existing pavement section and surface condition. The contractor shall maintain all temporary patches in a safe and drivable condition until permanent restoration is completed. Any settlement, cracking, or pavement failure within the patched area shall be repaired by the contractor at no cost to the City for the duration of the warranty period All excavations must be securely plated or backfilled at the end of each workday and during any period when the site is unattended. Plating shall be traffic-rated, flush with the surrounding surface, and properly secured to prevent movement and to maintain public safety
08/12/2026 No pedestrian detour is proposed; therefore, the sidewalk shall remain open and ADA-compliant at all times during construction. Worker-assisted pedestrian access does not constitute a pedestrian detour and shall not require pedestrians to leave the designated pedestrian path. If the sidewalk cannot be maintained in an open and ADA-compliant condition, an approved pedestrian detour shall be implemented prior to any sidewalk closure.
