Located on the northwest corner of Catalina Park in the public right-of way between 1st Street curb and sidewalk, we will install three 13’-long x 7’ wide water-harvesting eddy basins. A rock rundown/one-rock dam hybrid will be placed on the upstream/inlet side of each basin, with the rundown slope not exceeding 2:1 slope. Inlet structure to extend from street curb to sidewalk, with the top of no rock higher than top of curb or sidewalk. Planting shelf will be placed on sidewalk side and outlet side of each basin. Each basin will get one 4"-diameter curb core on its upstream side. 3’ pedestrian platform along 1st Street will be maintained. Plant palette – all low-water-use Tucson Basin native plants. Trees (one per basin): Desert ironwood, 2 velvet mesquite Understory to include: desert hackberry, wolfberry, jojoba, desert honeysuckle, fairy duster, chuparosa, Mormon tea, sonoran janusia, arrowweed. Catalina granite rock 8-18” size to be used for rock rundown/one-rock dam hybrid and stabilization of basin banks.
