We have purchased a “Backyard Discovery Magnolia Falls Swing Set- Do It Yourself” play set from Costco. The recommended safety zone by the manufacturer is 394 inches by 296 inches. Therefore, we have cleared an 825 square foot area in our backyard for the playset. The structure itself is about 220 square feet when assembled. Although the playset is designed to have 3 different levels and stand 127 inches high, we do not plan on installing to third level/roof due to height restrictions in our community. Therefore, our playset will stand about 85 inches or 7 feet tall. When finished, we plan to have approximately 6-9 inches of pea gravel for playground surfacing as recommended for optimal cushioning against falls.
