Main Roof: Leave the existing roofing system in place. Temporarily, by section, move over and stockpile the rock ballast, then install a new loose-laid TPO membrane with heat-welded seams. After each section of TPO installation, replace the rock ballast over the new membrane. The contractor’s canopy and garden center roofs are mechanically attached TPO systems (unlike the main ballasted roof) and currently have two layers of membrane. In these areas, both existing membrane layers will be removed and replaced with a new TPO membrane. The existing insulation may remain in place, provided it is confirmed to be dry.
